Know Your Customer (KYC) Verification Guide

You will be asked to complete KYC on Cube.Exchange in order to unlock full access to the platform.


What you will need

KYC requirements vary from region to region but typically you will be asked to provide;

  1. Selfie (Liveness / Face Check)

  2. Identification Document (ID)

  3. Proof of Address (POA)

Note:

The same document cannot be used to confirm both your identity and address. If you submit an ID document as proof of address, use another document to verify identity.


Selfie Requirements

  • Use a well-lit area (avoid backlighting)

  • Ensure your full face is visible (no hat, sunglasses, or mask)

  • Remove filters and avoid heavy editing

  • Use the live camera when prompted (not a photo of a photo)

  • Keep your face centered and follow on-screen instructions

Common issues:

  • Blurry photo / low light

  • Face partially covered

  • Camera can’t focus

  • Using a screenshot or image upload when liveness is required


Identification Requirements

Your ID must be valid (not expired), clearly readable, and match the details on your account.

Commonly accepted ID

  • Passport

  • Driver license

ID quality checklist

  • All four corners visible (no cropping)

  • Text is sharp and readable

  • No glare, reflections, or shadows

  • The document is not damaged

Common issues:

  • Expired IDs

  • Student cards, voting cards, membership cards

  • Photocopies

  • Screenshots that cut off key details

  • Documents with unreadable or obscured fields


Proof of Address (POA) Requirements

If requested, your document must show:

  • Your full name

  • Your residential address

  • A date of issue (within the last 3 months)

  • The issuer / organization name or logo

  • Full document (not a screenshot)

Accepted POA types

  • Utility bill (electricity, gas, water, internet)

  • Bank statement

  • Council rates notice / municipal letter

Not accepted

  • Phone screenshots with no issuer details

  • Invoices/receipts without full address + date

  • Packages/shipping labels

  • PO Box-only addresses

  • Documents older than the accepted timeframe
